Our Story
Lumachain began with a deceptively simple question:
Why is it so difficult to trace food through complex global supply chains?
The company’s earliest work focused on solving traceability challenges in the global meat industry, where processors, distributors, and customers needed better visibility into how products moved from production through export and distribution.
Working closely with some of the world’s largest protein processors, Lumachain built a platform capable of tracking products across plants, supply chains, and international logistics networks.
Along the way, something important became clear: The same technologies needed to track products through supply chains could also provide powerful visibility inside production environments themselves.
By applying computer vision AI directly within plants, Lumachain began helping processors monitor critical operations in real time — identifying issues affecting yield, quality, safety, and animal welfare as they occur.
Today, Lumachain’s platform operates inside food and beverage production environments around the world, helping plant teams detect problems earlier, respond faster, and maintain consistent operational standards.
